Trend Highlight: The Metallic Slip

trend-highlight-slip-dress-blog-header Recently, it seems that the metallic slip dress is returning from the 90's with a vengeance! It's making a comeback and we couldn't be happier! What better way to give a subtle nod to that decade without having to wear cargo-pants?

The Metallic Slip Dress

It seems like the stars of today are taking inspiration from the idols of the 90's and killing it with molten metallics all over the press. We thought we needed to give this new must-have the recognition it deserves: it's own Trend Highlight! We are in love with this trend, and if anything can make your body look like you're permanently swimming through molten-silver then we're down with it! It's a modern take on the 90's supermodel favourite, and D.Anna have a gorgeous floor-length metallic slip in 6 different colours, so you can be a metallic mermaid in whatever hue you fancy! Jennifer Lawrence and Candice Swanepoel have recently shown us how it's done, wearing it with accessories to accentuate that plunging neckline! seen-on

Throwback

Take your wardrobe back to the 90's and party like the supermodels in 1999! The metallic slip seemed to be everywhere, with celebs and supermodels alike wearing them to every event imaginable. The slip silhouette is a subtle way to add a hint of sultry attitude to your look without being too overtly sexy. The strappy top and deep neckline reminds us of lingerie, but a longer length balances out the amount of skin on show. throwback

Style It Up!

Luckily, this trend is extremely versatile! Pull it on with a pair of Converse and a slouchy jacket for a casual day look, or glam it up for a party with killer heels and a statement jewellery piece. We love that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kate Moss paired their dresses with a gorgeous cropped bolero; a great way to cover-up if you don't feel confident showing off your shoulders, or arms, with spaghetti straps. You could even wear it with Dr. Martens and a denim jacket, or pop a long sleeved sweater underneath to perfect your grunge style. style-with
