The best red carpet dresses at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards

Photo by Action Press/ REX/ Shutterstock Described as the ‘biggest party of the year' by Hollywood's Foreign Press Association, last night's 73rd Golden Globe Awards certainly didn't disappoint in the film or the fashion stakes. Held in the appropriately glitzy Beverly Hills Hilton hotel, the ceremony kicked off 2016's red carpet season with a feast of famous faces, scathing commentary á la funny front man Ricky Gervais, and our favourite of course – the most fabulous red carpet dresses! On stage, the winner was epic Western The Revenant, which scooped the night's most coveted prize for best dramatic film. On the red carpet, the awards for best dressed included Eva Green in a pale lace gown paired with bold red lips, and Kate Bosworth in a glittering red floral bandeau evening dress. Flying the fashion flag for Britain was the lovely Lily James in an ethereal white gown and the iconic Helen Mirren, who looked the epitome of cool in a classic black evening dress.
