Royal Wedding Style Steals: Own the Look
The Royal Wedding - the most anticipated event of the year! And this May, we saw Meghan Markle and Prince Harry say "I do” in front of a global audience of two billion people. The team here at Little Black Dress are still fizzing with excitement to finally see "that dress”. And to also feast our eyes on the host of celebrities setting new trends for wedding style. It's applause all round on the fabulous frock front – raising the bar on all our expectations. With a strict theme and dress code, it's harder to nail the look than you think. Men having to wear military uniform, morning coats, or lounge suits and for women restricted to longer dresses with hat. Because we all wish to look this amazing, here are our suggestions for style steals from our own wedding guest edit.
The Royal Wedding dress: Aisle Do
Own Meghan's look with a new Saint A bridal gown
How could we not start with the bride herself, the newly-titled Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. Her first gown was designed by Clare Waight Keller from fashion house Givenchy. Kensington Palace stated that it epitomises "a timeless minimal elegance referencing the codes of the iconic house". The seemingly never ending veil was beautifully embroidered with flowers from each country of the Commonwealth and her tiara was leant to her by HRH Queen Elizabeth, originally owned by Queen Mary.
Later on in the day, Meghan appeared in her jaw dropping evening gown designed by British designer, Stella McCartney.
Victoria Beckham – Dark vibes
Copy the midi vibes of Victoria Beckham with this embellished Club L dress
Victoria certainly caused a stir in her darkly coloured slit sleeve midi dress. Her outfit was all about sleek lines and matched her husband's formal attire perfectly.
Amal Clooney – Dazzling Display
We've lots of options for this gorgeous sunny colour. Try the Gorgeous Couture jumpsuit
Or why not go for this Closet London dress in mustard?
It can be a very difficult colour to pull off, but Amal Clooney certainly lifted the spirits on Saturday on the arm of her actor husband George. She shone brightly in a yellow pencil dress.
Duchess Kate champagne overcoat: Sleek Lines
Style steal: Try the new in Dynasty dress and jacket or the Gina Baconni version.
Kate re-wore her Alexander McQueen overcoat and looked simply divine. Her grace and elegance really suited the outfit - which was also very versatile, leaving her free to move around with ease (perfect for chasing little ones up the aisle and for hitting that dance floor later).
Kitty Spencer: Green with Envy
Little Black Dress style steal: the Raishma green cape dress
Going to a wedding? Why not go bold like Kitty Spencer and opt for the hue of green? It's a very daring colour to wear but keep accessories simple or nude so as not to complicate the look.
Oprah: Royal Wedding Best Dressed
Our version : Blushing Best Dressed in Nataliya Couture in floral blush pink
Blush is really on trend right now and we were delighted to see our favourite television hostess (Oprah) and tennis ace Selena Williams turning up to the Royal wedding in this perfect SS18 colour.
Carey Mullighan – delicate embroidery in feminine soft colours
Go floral this wedding day with Sarvin's style steal: We're loving this flower girl look
What about Carey's delicate floral display? She looks gorgeous arriving with her husband Marcus. We love the intricate petals and floating bows.
