In the run up to the release of her new solo album
Cinderella's Eyes,
Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts stepped out at the
BT Digital Music Awards in
London in a groovy graphic black and white floor-length
maxi dress.
Other celebs who've been working the
monochrome trend include
Heidi Klum at her 'Shine' fragrance launch in a black and white leopard print midi dress and
Isla Fisher in New York in a printed mini. But we think Nicola's longer choice makes this fun and modern print more glam and we've found a similar black and white zig-zag pattern maxi by uber-cool brand
Acne.
Nicola's
monochrome maxi is from the
Topshop Unique Spring/Summer 2012 collection and with its cleverly placed abstract print, this dress creates curves in all the right places for super-small Nicole. Plus it makes her even more leggy!
This is a great shape for adding height as it elongates the body by drawing attention down, making legs seem as though they go on forever. If you're tall like Nicole, wear an eye-catching necklace like this piece from
Selfridges, and keep hair down to balance your shape out.
Add a glitzy
cocktail ring, but try to stick to metallic and neutral colours to really work the
monochrome trend and finally add a slender and contemporary purse or clutch like this gold one by
Reiss.
