Add-on Drama!

In part one of our beauty masterclass Carly showed us how to create the perfect base so our make-up looks it's best and lasts all night long. Today, she's bringing us a dramatic add-on that every woman needs for the party season, the classic red lip. The ideal addition to take your make-up from desk to the dancefloor.

Statement Look: Classic Red Lip

Time: 5 minutes

Perfect for: Sprucing up for an office do! Add a red lip to your look to impress your colleagues at the office do.

1. Clean over the lips with a baby wipe to give you a super slick starting point, then treat them to Welda Skin Food (£6.95), for added hydration and longevity of your look.
2. Line the lip with GOSH Velvet Touch Lip Liner in Cardinal Red (£4.99) gently tracing the shape of your pout to stop the overall lip colour from running and to give a nice finish.
3. Using a lip brush for precision, gently paint Urban Decay Mega Matte Lipstick in 714 (£15) all over, going back in to add depth until your pout is perfect.

Carly's Top Tip: Choosing your Perfect Red

If you have cool tone skin (i.e can you see you veins in your wrist?) opt for a berry red, as the blue tones in these shades pay you all the compliments. Can't see the veins? You're the owner of a warm skin tone! You should go for a coral or orangey red to flatter your face.
