Kate Moss: the icon

Discovered by Sarah Doukas of Storm Model Management, sat atop a suitcase in JFK airport in 1988, Kate Moss has since become an unstoppable force in the fashion world. It's fair to say that she is not just a fashion icon but a British icon. There's even an 18 carat gold statue of her! Now that's impressive. At age 16, Kate was shot in "The 3rd Summer of Love" for The Face magazine which was her first cover feature. That was the first of over 300 magazine covers of her career (and we can assume many more to come) over 30 of these have been for Vogue. Her first Vogue cover was in March '93 at just 19 years old.

As well as being the face of many fashion and beauty campaigns, Kate is famous for her personal style. She has one of the most enviable wardrobes out there and her own clothing line for Topshop! Her love of vintage, edgey and effortlessly cool clothes has made her a style icon and trend setter to many around the world.

Loves Fashion

Vivienne Westwood was quoted saying; 'She loves fashion, she understands clothes. She knows how to work clothes. I think Kate is the most stylish person that treads the planet.' (If Westwood says it then it must be true!) Throughout her reign as top fashionista Kate has been a dedicated wearer of the LBD. A copy of the cut-out neck black dress she wore back in '95 was made for her Topshop collection! She's experiemented with feathers, sequins, strapless, maxis...

We are all guilty of being a tad jealous of Ms Moss in at least one aspect of her life, whether it be her rock 'n roll lifestyle, the perfection of her festival style, when she went out with Johnny Depp, celebrity BFFs or that famous figure! We could go on. Instead we've all just learnt to bow down and bask in the light that is Kate Moss.
