Iconic 80s fashion film Pretty in Pink celebrates its 30th anniversary

Starring Mollie Ringwald, John Cryer and Andrew McCarthy, Pretty in Pink is the story of Andie, a teen girl on the social outside who falls for rich boy, Blane. So far, so typical but it's the leading lady's more complicated relationships with bully, Steff and her sidekick, Duckie that really won over audiences. That and Duckie's legendary dance moves, which you may have caught a glimpse of during The Late Late Show with James Corden earlier last year, wherein a slightly older ‘Duckie' re-enacts the routine. We don't want to spoil it but everything comes to a head at the school prom (as every chick flick storyline worth its mettle should), where Andie's home-fashioned frock is revealed. For those that remember the film's release, the soundtrack will no doubt take you right back to your own tightly-coifed cut and young loves, while Pretty in Pink newbies are sure to fall head over heels for the anxious yet confident, plain yet beautiful, serious yet funny Andie, the cast's yesteryear get-ups and the fresh faces of some of today's most-loved actors.
