Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet Glamour

Marking the start of the summer red carpet season Cannes Film Festival is not only biggest celebration of international film but also one of the most glamorous events of the year. We've seen some incredible red carpet moments here over the years and now in its 68th year, there have been no exceptions. So as the A-list descend upon the French Riviera once again we take a look at some of the spectacular looks we've seen so far...

Golden Girls

Stunning model Irina Shayk certainly got the flash bulbs going on Tuesday night as she dazzled in a golden Atelier Versace gown for the premiere of Sicario. Showing off her lithe limbs and hourglass figure, the beautifully embellished dress complete with sexy thigh split and plunging neck was beautifully complemented with metallic gold heels and a slicked-back bun. Nicole Scherzinger also had the wow-factor for her entrance at the Chopard party on Monday as she opted for an exquisite metallic gown. Flowing elegantly to the floor from the cinched in waist, the fishtail skirt accentuated her hourglass shape, the whole look elongated by the on trend one-shoulder design seen everywhere from Alexander McQueen to Lanvin. The intricate beading added a magical finish to the dress leaving Nicole sparkling through the night. Russian model Natasha Poly stood out at The Sea of Trees premiere on Saturday in a custom-made Michael Kors gown. The plunging neckline, open serpentine neckline and strappy gold heels gave her look a glamorous 70s vibe, her soft waves and red lip finishing off the look perfectly.

All That Glitters

It wouldn't be a red carpet without some dazzling embellishment and these ladies ensured we got our fill. Actress Julianne Moore opted for an Armani Privé wrap-around gown with a unique combination of mesh, sequins and feathers. She pulled the look together with a slick bun, smokey eye and statement green gemstones earrings - can we get a pair please?! Fellow actress Naomi Watts wore a stunning feathered creation from Elie Saab dress; the low-cut bodice was beautifully beaded whilst the skirt of the dress definitely stole the show. She styled her gown with a statement necklace, a graceful up do and a winning smile. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini donned a super sleek nude gown from British couturiers Ralph & Russo for the premiere of Woody Allen's film Irrational Man. Pairing her dress with nude shoes, simple drop earrings and a dark lip she was the epitome of ladylike sophistication.

Colour Pop

With the sunny Cannes weather beaming away, we saw some more adventurous colour choices for the red carpet. Natalie Portman went for a simple yet powerful look in a Dior Couture column-shaped strapless red gown. A sultry sweetheart neckline, sleek hair with a gentle curl and dazzling earrings… Now that's Hollywood glamour! Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupito Nyong'o managed to dazzle on the red carpet yet again and all eyes were on the 32-year-old as she twirled in her bespoke green Gucci gown at the opening ceremony. The custom made piece had a plunging neckline and featured intricate floral crystal embellishment; she styled her look with a contrasting purple lip and simple accessories. Victoria's Secret angel Miranda Kerr looked gorgeous as ever at the Magnum black and pink party in a plunging pink gown by Emanuel Ungaro. She teamed her look with nude strappy sandals, shown off by the deep split up the dress (also showing off those legs!!), loose waves and a red lip.

In the Blue

Never failing to impress on the fashion front, Sienna Miller wore a gorgeous deep blue Lanvin gown to the opening ceremony. The over-sized bow on the asymmetric neckline of the dress made a chic statement that beautifully complemented the sleek shape of the dress. German actress Diane Kruger was her usual fashionable self for the Disorder premiere on Saturday in a sleek mini dress from the Dolce and Gabbana Fall '15 collection. Uma Thurman, who unbelievably turned 45 last month, showed off her amazing figure in a slinky blue dress for the closing ceremony.

All in White

White dresses on the red carpet always go down well, especially in the sunny glow of Cannes. Victoria's Secret model Karlie Kloss brought something fashion-forward to the opening ceremony in an Altelier Versace Couture split-leg jumpsuit. The revealing top half showing off the models lean figure while the bottom exposed only one leg, she styled it with matching silver court shoes and glitzy accessories. Fellow Angel Doutzen Kroes wowed in a figure-hugging white dress with edgy yet tasteful thigh-split and cut-outs across the chest and back. The supermodel wore her hair in a messy up do and opted for silver shoes and accessories, keeping most of the attention on her dress. Divergent actress Zoe Kravitz donned a Valentino Couture gown, the bottom of the dress trailed the floor behind her gracefully, in a light, swaying fabric, however the top of the dress left little to the imagination in a wrap-around style.

Amazing in Yellow

Yellow is definitely not a colour for the faint-hearted but these ladies certianly pulled of their yellow gowns in chic style. Model Emma Miller wore a classic cut gown but kept it interesting in a shade of soft yellow and an edgey side split, the colouring complementing her dark hair. Charlize Theron opted for a citrus-hued strapless number by Dior at the premiere of her new movie Mad Max: Fury Road. The dress flattered the actress' toned body with its contouring cut and beautifully dramatic train and she styled it with minimal accessories, strappy sandals and a sweeping up do as to not distract from the dress. At the opening night screening of Standing Tall Noemie Lenoir showed off her prominent baby bump in a dipped hem, halter neck Chloe maxi dress. The vibrant colour was eye catchingly refreshing and complemented her skin tone perfectly. That's it for now but we'll keep you posted on Team LBD's favourite looks over the course of the 12 days!
