Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon
It comes as no surprise that Audrey Hepburn is the ultimate Little Black Dress style icon – we did design the LBD Collection Audrey Dress in her honour after all! Her starring role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of the most influential cinematic moments in fashion history and she has since become synonymous with the classic wardrobe staple we endearingly call the LBD.
The National Portrait Gallery
The National Portrait Gallery announced the Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon photographic exhibition last year, sending Team LBD into excited anticipation with the promise of showcasing both classic and rarely seen prints of the silver screen star. The fascinating exhibition illustrates her life in a collection of more than 70 pictures, from her early years starring in the West End through to her philanthropic work in later life. Taken by numerous high profile photographers such as Cecil Beaton and Irving Penn, the selection also includes vintage magazine covers and film stills. We're looking forward to attending the open day of the exhibition in London on 2nd July to celebrate and be further inspired by one of the worlds most photographed and recognisable style icons.
