All the dresses at the Golden Globes
The 2013 Golden Globes was an event to beholden. Not just because some of the biggest names in film and TV scooped several prestigious awards but because more so than any other awards ceremony the red carpet visitors here really take a chance with their fashion choices. And luckily, it was worth the risk for most. Ruby red dresses featured heavily, whilst the classic black ball gown and white column dress also got a lot of love from some of our favourite stars. And as for new season style we saw light and frilly lace numbers a plenty and there were even a few short, embellished numbers to keep the party season on our minds.
From the bright to the light, the ladylike to the pretty darn sexy here's Team LBD's top styles from the night:
BEST IN BLACK
To mention the 2013 Golden Globes and not mention Adele's gorgeous black dress by Burberry would be a mistake indeed. The couture creation featured an ornate neckline and long-sleeves as well as a high waistline which flattered the singer's post-baby shape and caught the eye of every onlooker. Teamed with tangerine nails and her signature up-do Adele looked every bit the red carpet star as she accepted her award for best original song for Skyfall. And if you haven't watched her acceptance speech, do so now! Following closely behind in the black dress stakes was awards show veteran Julianne Moore who showed off her SS13 trend know-how in a long monochrome number. Statement chandelier earrings, black peep-toe high heels and a black and gold clutch bag completed her sophisticated yet sultry look making this one our favourite looks of the night.

BLACK & GOLD
Black and gold — a safe style for any evening affair and Kate Hudson and Helen Mirren pulled off the classic look perfectly last night. We love the subtly sexy cut-out neckline on Kate's Alexander McQueen design and the elegant gold embellishment around the collar and waist beautifully emphasised her enviable figure and fashion prowess. But can you believe there are 34 years between these two screen sirens? Even next to the gorgeous Ms Hudson Helen Mirren held her own in this fabulous body-con long black dress. The curve-enhancing gold panelling gave Helen's outfit a youthful but incredibly chic feel and showed that age is just a number when it comes to dominating the red carpet!

THIGH-FLASHERS
2013 is going to be the year of the peek-a-boo piece. And never ones to shy away from a flesh-flashing yet tres chic trend Eva Longoria and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley whipped their toned and trimmed pins out in these amazing thigh-high split dresses. Both ladies opted for a flattering halter-neck design and cleavage enhancing details. Whilst Rosie drew attention upwards with a fabulous flamenco style ruffle detail Eva kept her finger firmly on the fashion pulse with transeasonal black lace sleeves. Great LBD style girls!

NEW SEASON STYLE
If you're looking for tips on how to wow in 2013, look no further. Light, bright, ethereal lace and delicate appliqué will be a must-have look for the new season and here boho-babes Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller show us how to do it with ease. Blue was a popular choice for SS13 designers and this light blue, almost lilac floor-length lace gown was the perfect amount of ladylike and sexy with a flesh coloured underlay alluding to the skin beneath. In a white and pink column style number by Erdem Sienna paid tribute to the 60s whilst still managing to look 21st century chic.

RAVISHING IN RUBY
We're used to seeing Claire Danes aka Carrie in Homeland in a dressed down jeans and t-shirt combo so this ravishing ruby red evening gown was quite a treat for our fashion appetite. We love how the drapey, halter-neck style worked with the stand out colour and elaborate length of the dress to look easy yet sophisticated. But for a more dressed up look Zooey Deschanel was our girl in a super-shiny red strapless dress. The sweetheart neckline was perfect for the kooky and feminine actress whilst the tight bodice, voluminous skirt and classic pearl necklace hinted at a grown-up, demure lady trying to get out.

ALL WHITE
If you haven't already noticed white is a key colour for SS13 and here Anne Hathaway and our very own Michelle Dockery show us why. But whilst all the major glossies are cooing over Anne's sleek, chic white column dress we can't help but think she could have made a bit more of a statement like Michelle. If our heart didn't already belong to the black dress Michelle would have certainly stolen the show in this baroque embellished gold and white high-neck evening dress. And her hair! And the accessories! Perfection.
