The Golden Globes 2020 - Best Dresses
Red dominated the Golden Globes 2020 with Dame Helen Mirren, Olivia Colman, Scarlett Johansson and Nicole Kidman causing a stir in fabulous frocks. They are seen stepping out with head turning finesse at the highly entertaining Golden Globes 2020 this week. Read on for the best dresses for celebrity winning style. . .
Firstly, it's celebration time for the Brits as loads of actors left with a Golden Globe at the 2020 awards. Sam Mendes' WW1 film 1917 scoops top prize as 'boozy' Olivia Colman wins for The Crown alongside Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Rocketman's Taron Egerton and Elton John. A glittering line up of celebrities enjoyed a boozy evening of fun, glamour and the unrivalled wit of Ricky Gervais. But the spotlight, as always, was on the spectacular dresses. Candid moments showing stars relaxed and carefree where interspersed by stunning black tie glamour.
The Golden Globes Chilled Vibes
Meanwhile, leading stars bedecked in jewels and ruffles dominated the evening. The Golden Globes enjoys a more chilled vibe than most award ceremonies. As actors relax on private tables overflowing with fine wines and decadence, we see them laughing with ease surrounded by friends and family. It's always one our most favourite award ceremonies.
But, let's get back to the main event the dresses. So, without further ado, here's the best, and some of the slightly questionable moments from the Golden Globes 2020 awards night.
Kirsten Dunst, Priyanka Chopra Pretty in Pink
Key spring trends seemed to dominate. See Kirtsen Dunst in baby pink Rodart. Pink remains a key colour for the season and Priyanka Chopra also pulls out the stops with her Bardot pink creation. Discover pretty pastels and pink maxi dresses in our new trends collection at Little Black Dress.
Prints and Monochrome
Meanwhile, prints continue to have a strong role this season such as Joey King's Iristan Herpa midi print dress love it or hate it, you've got to admire the sheer inventiveness of this designer dress. We're loving the dramatic sleeve; this is certainly a unique frock and the monochrome print is sure to be copied on the catwalks. Watch out for sleeves continuing to be a lust-have item this new season. Monochrome is also high in the fashion stakes. Zoe Kravtiz, Joey King, Phoebe Waller-Bridge
Haute Couture, that's posh frocks to me and you, is definitely the order of the day at the 77th Golden Globes Award Ceremony. We adore Zoe Kravitz in her Saint Laurent polka dots. Again, another key trend for SS20. Phoebe Waller-Bridge (of Fleabag fame) shows us that tailored suits are also so on trend right now. This Ralph and Russo outfit was perfect, we're loving the satin lapels and the busy print effect. However, some may argue there is too much going on here. Phoebe's short slick hair helps tone down the overall effect. Our vote is a thumbs up what's yours? Did you know we are not just about dresses? Reds Dominate the Golden Globes 2020

Reds continue to dominate. It's a strong hue for the new SS20 season. Stars seen on the red carpet wearing this siren colour are firstly Olivia Colman wearing an oversized red Dior dress. Her sweet speech of unexpected glory was in stark contrast to her dramatic dress. Some may argue the material is rather heavy (a bit like curtains?) and those puff sleeves are so on trend, but are they a little too much? Of course, we love Olivia and can't get enough of her. She definitely wears The Crown in our eyes for being fabulous in every way. A big well done Olivia for scooping your Best TV Drama award, and for your honest and heart-warming comments: I feel like I'm living someone's else life.
Scarlet Johansson and Nicole Kidman also grace the Golden Globes 2020 wearing red. Scarlet's plunging neckline is amazing! This Vera Wang dress really draws attention to her fabulous figure. Again, we see a long train and a bow on the rear skirt. Dame Helen Mirren wears the latest trend for draping with a fit and flare ballgown by Dior again featuring a small train. Perhaps a new trend for prom dresses for 2020? Simply, stunning. Shop our red dresses collection for big drama this Valentine's Day.
Jennifer Aniston and Kerry Washington- Black Dresses

Meanwhile, black dresses continue to be the ultimate in chic. Although not as prominent on the red carpet as in the last 18 months, we see the gorgeous Jennifer Aniston wearing a stunning black Bardot frill maxi dress by Dior. Kerry Washington also arrives wearing a stunning, if daring Altuzara dress with a chain front. What are your thoughts on this? We love Kerry's amazing figure but unsure if the chain is a tad too far? But 10 out of 10 for daring she's our kind of woman. Black is so this year ladies. See our large selection of curated black dresses to wow this new season
Going Metallic

However, two top stars were definitely going for gold at the Golden Globes 2020. For instance, JLo stuns in her green, gold and white long Valentino dress. Many have cruelly pointed out this was slightly a big like a Christmas present? But we don't agree. One can never have too much Va Va Voom. We also see Beyonce suddenly appearing in the audience, as if out of nowhere, in an LBD featuring big puff sleeves in gold. I guess this dress doesn't make for a quiet entrance. Metallic textures and colour continue as a trend this new season and Queen B doesn't fail to impress with her fashion prowess. As always, her style is irrefutably her own. See our stunning metallic maxis for jaw-dropping entrances.
So, tell us what you think? Is the latest trend for big puff sleeves a step too far? Have prints simply gone crazy? We'd love to see your comments the best will be posted below.
