Icon: Emma Stone's La La Looks to Steal
Hollywood's new It Girl, Emma stone, won Best Actress at The Oscars 2017. The La La Land movie star is best friends with Jennifer Lawrence and Taylor Swift and the next big thing in Hollywood (her new project is as Cruella which is out 2018). Would La La Land have won as many accolades (five BAFTAS and six Oscars no less!) had it not been for Emma Stone - and that iconic wardrobe of rainbow -coloured tea dresses? Read on for our take on the dresses that made the film - and how to steal Emma Stone's style.
It's official. The humble tea dress is causing a retro phenomena to sweep the globe.
And Team LBD are loving it!
It seems nobody can get enough of the movie that is all about chasing dreams and a little dig at the so-called Hollywood glamour - not forgetting a dash of romance between
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
We're loving the feel-good dance routines leaving a kaleidoscope of swinging, swirling fabrics floating across the big screen like confetti.
MAKE-UP AND HAIR MAGIC
We adore the make-up looks of the film too, we think Urban Decay's Vice in Wrong Number is a must have lipstick for low key natural vibes but if you wish to vamp it up, try Urban Decay's Badblood or Mega Matte Lipstick in shade 714. And let's face it, what fifties chick wouldn't be without the must-have handbag staple?
And for hair, go for an undone wave. Blow dry for smoothness and volume, then tong the mid lengths only leaving ends and collectionss straight. Curl pointing the tongs in lots of different directions and to create depth. Leave to cool, then tip the head upside town, blast with texturising spray.

We're talking sunshine yellow - hello yes, we are loving that colour - and hot reds combined with emerald green and blues - the message here ladies is to be bold and embrace colour without barriers.
For those not lucky enough to have watched the film at the movies, Mia (Emma Stone) is an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician. Both are struggling to make ends meet while pursuing their dreams in a city known for destroying hopes and breaking hearts. There's lots of tap and jazz hands and classic cars.
But getting to the important stuff, the dresses are simply out of this world gorgeous. Mia (or Emma) wears throwback fashion with a penchant for yellow, emerald green and pastel colours.
The film's costume dress designer, Mary Zophres, is reputed to have said she was trying to connect dresses with colour because of the emotional impact she believes colour plays with the audience.
Well whatever the reason, we at Team LBD simply love the resurgence in swingy, tea dresses which can be seen as a nod to this season's SS17 fashion trend.
